Attorney Paul Downey
Paul Downey is a North Texas native and was raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He attended Dallas Jesuit High School on a scholarship, where he started to learn the value of service for others – a value that he puts into practice for every client.
He then went to Southern Methodist University, where he majored in Biology and worked as a tutor and as a mortgage banker – careers in which he learned that his best asset was his ability to communicate effectively on behalf of others. In 2010, he returned to school in San Antonio to the St. Mary’s University School of Law to follow his calling.
While in law school, Paul worked for the St. Mary’s Center for Legal and Social Justice as a Student Attorney and as a Teacher’s Assistant, advocating on behalf of low income families who otherwise would not have been able to afford legal representation. There, he registered more than 100 hours of pro-bono legal work.
The skills he learned at the Center led to his pursuit of a post-graduate degree in Federal Taxation, which furthered his understanding of individual and corporate statements.
Career at The ClineSmith Law Firm
Since graduation, Paul has had the opportunity to represent clients in a variety of settings, in both criminal and civil settings, and in administrative proceedings. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants, individuals and organizations.
Today, Attorney Downey’s value has no bounds when it comes to The Clinesmith Law Firm and the clients we represent. His in-depth knowledge of corporate mechanisms and unwavering passion to benefit the community drive the daily work he conducts.
