Attorney Philip Woram

Philip Woram is an associate attorney at Smith Clinesmith, LLP.

Philip grew up in Dallas, Texas, where he attended St. Mark’s School of Texas before matriculating to Dartmouth College. At Dartmouth, Philip earned an A.B. in Philosophy.

Before attending law school, Philip worked at a real estate investment firm in Dallas and learned accounting, ultimately obtaining a Master’s Degree in Business Taxation at the University of Southern California. The Business Taxation program, taught primarily by lawyers and using law school textbooks, triggered Philip’s passion for law. Philip applied immediately to law school, and began attending Southern Methodist University the next fall with a Dean’s Scholarship.

While at SMU Law, Philip clerked for the Dallas DA’s office, a civil rights firm where he drafted a reply brief that was argued in the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, and at a prestigious commercial litigation firm in Los Angeles. He was also a member of the SMU International Law Review which published his case note on international forum litigation in the extractive industry in its journal, The International Lawyer.

After law school, Philip worked in family law litigation for several years, sitting second chair at numerous trials and frequently making solo appearances in other hearings. In 2019, Philip joined Smith Clinesmith, LLP where he works primarily on the firm’s spray foam docket.
